This was my first experience in dealing with a general contractor. I had damage done on my home from a storm and I was recommended Sarap Inc. Sarap Inc. made this experience a pleasure and I would highly recommend them if you are looking for quality work. Thank you again Sarap Inc for a job well done.
An inexpensive, professional and overall good experience. We originally found Steve through FindAPro.com to finish a bathroom that we had gutted over a year ago. We interviewed 6 other contractors and eventually chose Steve, partially due to the fact that his estimate was among the least expensive and my wife and I just liked him. He gave us a thorough overview of how the job would run and within a few weeks we had a beautiful new bathroom. One of the most impressive elements of it was the tile work. We previously had a bad experience with tile and this was the complete opposite. It was the kind of tile you would expect in a magazine. We were so impressed with the bathroom, we hired Steve again to finish our basement. Steve brought his crew back and the basement is just about done. One of the things we liked most about Steve is that he subbed out the work that he doesn't specialize in - plumbing, tile-work, etc. The only thing I had to provide was an electrician and a painter. Overall, we would definitely recommend Sarap Inc. to anyone looking to do any home improvements, big or small.
The experiences I have had in the past with other contractors were not nearly as gratifying as that with Steve. My wife is a real estate developer and through her contacts we had a nice group of six contractors to choose from with our project. Steve wound up being better than all of our other contacts. He is a genuine and kind person.Originally, we were looking to remodel our kitchen and bathroom. Along the pre-planning it was decided to include the renovation of the adjoined family room. The bathroom was moved into the family room area, which meant gutting the kitchen as well. With such major work taking place in our home we expected a horror, but they were very clean. It was not nearly as bad as we had thought it would be. Even with sliding doors and new walls being created the stress was taken out of it.Steve was very conscientious in a few different ways. He truly gave us more than we expected and took care of some issues during the construction as the job expanded. All those things that are impossible to account for prior to the start were taken care of without any hassle. He was also wonderful with keeping us informed. I would often wait for him in the morning before leaving for the office and if he was running as little as five minutes late I received a phone call that he was on his way. He had no problem waiting if we were late in coming home. The same thoughtfulness applied on nights and weekends, too. If it was 8pm or 9pm at night or a weekend he picked up or called back within 30 minutes. I could even call him on Sunday to see when he would be arriving on Monday. His responsiveness was not the only thing that was beyond our expectations. We receive constant compliments on the work, including those that are pretty handy themselves. Not only have we recommended him to friends and family, but my wife recommended him for any potential needs with her employer.
HE ACTUALLY CALLS ME BACK IF I DO NOT GET HIM ON HIS CELL!! Steve replaced my roof, gutters, installed gutter guards and totally remodeled a bathroom. Steve also did some remodeling work by removing a deck over a flat roof, tearing it off and replacing it with a hip roof. As part of this job, Steve removed an outside entrance closed it up and added a window in the process. This job was completed by framing and adding a garage door. The outside of the house looks beautiful. Further, Steve added steel to an existing interior beam that had begun to sag. Steve completed all work ahead of time including spackling and priming all areas.Steve was "Johnny on the Spot" with everything. I was used to general contractors not calling me and Steve took care of things that came up during the work without nickel and diming. There were lots of odds and ends during the work with the deck, but there were no headaches.Bottom line- he came and did what he was supposed to do when he was scheduled for the reasonable prices quoted. I truly have no complaints and would definitely recommend him. Steve finished the job and came back when there were only minor fixes to be made.
All of his work is excellent. I really like that Steve is always on the job site and kept us apprised of all that was going on during each project. We knew what was necessary prior to construction and anything additional that was going on once we were into the job. He was very accessible. He also makes sure the job site is clean. Our first major renovation included ripping off the top of the house to add four bedrooms and a full bath. Two years later he gutted our kitchen and knocked down some walls. This created one large kitchen, living room, dining room area that looks fantastic. I have recommended him to at least a dozen people for major remodeling work and they have yielded the same results.Steve is not "pennywise and pound foolish," There was value in every single dollar spent, which I have seen in my home on a daily basis. This can be seen in something as small as the crew's punctuality and professionalism.
An amazing person to have in your home. I have known Steve for over 20 years. He is one of the few very honest people I know. I lived in his house and also worked for him for five years. He is extremely well versed and knowledgeable. He knows more about his field and the tangents surrounding it than anyone I have ever met. With his level of experience and intelligence there is not much he cannot take on. Whenever someone asks me for a contractor he is immediately the first person I think of and I let them know he will do the work in your home as if it was his mother's house. He has helped me with projects in my own house, including the structure. He is a genuinely good person and excellent contractor worth the highest of recommendation.
We brought in six other contractors to bid on our very large renovation and Sarap provided the best price. We really felt he gave us the best for our money. We took off the second floor of the house, gutted the first floor, and added a small extension. During the rebuild we raised the roofline and basically rebuilt our home. All the work was completed in less than six months. Steve was easy to work with and on site everyday. We spoke to him every night at the house, even if he had to wait or come back to meet us. He was great with providing options with everything. We were worried about the final stages of signing off on the project, but he has stood by the work even a year and half later on a small problem with a pipe. The plumber is being contacted to assess and resolve the situation. It has been a pleasure to pass along his name to our friends.
Steve and his son built my cabana. They were very respectful and did a terrific job. The price was fair and I would highly recommend them for home improvement work.
